Cyber security: 2 April 2020, 10.30 am – 1.00 pm

Join the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources to learn about the latest cyber security trends and strategies to protect your businesses.

“The latest Cyber threats risks to secure against, including identification of risks across multiple platforms, how to mitigate cyber risk and an Israeli perspective on the next generation of Cyber security solutions”.

Cyber security is now one of the biggest threats to business continuity. Data leaks, breaches, and cyber-crime continue to hit the headlines. Critical infrastructure, mobile phones and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are susceptible, and ransomware virus attacks are on the rise.

However, research shows the brunt of Australian small businesses are underprepared for cyber-attacks, with only 13 per cent of 400 small businesses surveyed from the 2017 MYOB SME Snapshot stating they had a cyber security plan in place.

So what can you do as a small business owner to understand what solutions are available to support your business going forward?

Join us and hear from an Israeli cyber-security expert discuss the latest cyber security trends and strategies to protect your businesses.

With a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, strong government support and a steady stream of talented, well-trained cyber security experts, Israel has become a global cybersecurity powerhouse, attracting around 20% of the global private cyber security investment each year, as well as exporting over $6.5 billion in cybersecurity products last year.

Cybersecurity investment in Israel surged 47% to over $1b in 2018, and data protection is the fastest-growing vertical in Israel, with 13 new startups in the field, according to an industry tracker report.

So, don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a world-leading expert from Australian-based Israeli cyber-security company – about the threats facing your business and new strategies to protect your organisation.
